For us small business owners we definitely want to know that our advertising dollars are being well spent. With several choices available for cost-per-click advertising it is hard to decide where the spend.
I currently advertise with the following providers:
Google Adwords - how could you not? There are still the leader when it comes to internet search engines or let's face it Google knows more about us than we do. Have you ever checked out Google Trends or Insights? Yeah, Google is EVERYWHERE.
That is a good thing for anyone who wants to advertise.
Yahoo Marketing Solutions - we chose Yahoo because we noticed a lot of our customers were using yahoo email accounts. It is likely due to the fact that they were from Asia too. Therefore an important factor to consider is who your target user is.
Bing - we have not started to advertise cost per click with Microsoft's Bing. However, we do intend to start in 2010. With the way that Microsoft has integrated so much of their software, I figure with Windows 7 there is going to be more and more people like my parents who will not bother to change from IE to Firefox or Chrome.
